Stay Mason Student Support Fund

Emergency funding is available to students who experience unexpected financial challenges, emergencies, or sudden financial hardships. To see if you meet the eligibility criteria, follow this link.

Financial Aid

To assist you with the financial aid process, Mason’s Office of Student Financial Aid has a team of dedicated professionals available to help you and your family. The Financial Aid staff will work with you annually as you re-apply for financial assistance each year you attend Mason.

If you’re interested in applying for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it to the federal processor by January 15, or March 1 for transfer students.  For more information, please visit How to Apply for Financial Aid. Patriot Pantry

The Patriot Pantry provides access to non-perishable food items and toiletries to George Mason University students who are unable to afford them.

Prince William ACTION in Community Through Service

ACTS services are separated into two main categories: Crisis Services and Human Services. Services include a comprehensive domestic violence prevention and intervention program to include the whole family—women, men and children. In addition, Helpline (703-368-4141) provides an anonymous crisis telephone service as well as resource referrals. The support groups sponsored by Helpline are essential to people who have lost a loved one to suicide or who have attempted suicide. Each of the programs addresses the mission of ACTS: to alleviate hunger, homelessness and interpersonal violence in order to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency.

Thriving Together Well-Being Weekly 

Weekly tips and activities provided by the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being. 

Virtual Mindfulness Sessions

Take a well-being break on weekdays for Mindful Mason Moments mindfulness sessions. Facilitators hold space for you to slow down and reconnect with yourself, so you can move through your day with more awareness, connection, and ease. By taking good care of yourself, you can contribute more to your friends, families, colleagues, and community members. These opportunities give you the extra push to build an actual break into your day that is focused on self-care.

Physical/Recreation 

BurnAlong is an online platform that is available via computer, smartphone or tablet – you can take classes online on-demand, and invite others to join them in live private workouts.

Find Trails Near You!  AllTrails is here to help you find local trails and open spaces for mental, physical, and emotional catharsis.

Financial Well-Being and Student Support and Advocacy Center

The Financial Well-Being team is located in the Student Support and Advocacy Center (SSAC). Our goal is to educate students about personal finances, creating a budget, managing credit, understanding financial aid options, and other financial concerns

Mason Student Services Center

The Mason Student Services Center exists to better serve students by providing access to information that is important for success at George Mason University. We act as the primary point of contact for all enrollment services as integrated customer service representatives for the Registrar, Student Accounts, and Financial Aid.

NEW: The Mason Student Services Center is available for remote services and face-to-face meetings by appointment. You may reach us via e-mail at mssc@gmu.edu or via virtual check-in here.

Virtual Museums  

More than 2,500 museums and cultural institutions across the world have made their collections accessible through Google Arts and Culture. The Smithsonian’s are now online! Check out the Natural History museum and others here

If you are feeling a little adventurous and are looking to get outside virtually you can also access Google to access National Parks across the United States.

Contemporary Student Services seeks to provide a centralized resource center and comprehensive offering of academic and social engagement opportunities to specifically meet the needs of students living off-campus and those transitioning to off-campus living, contributing to a successful, holistic, and seamless collegiate experience. This includes students who are parenting, student veterans. adult learners over the age of 25, students from the foster care system, fully online learners, and transfer students.

The Kennedy Center provides a great online educational platform that focuses on engaging and empowering learners with arts education.  

Cosmic Yoga practice is designed for children 3+. Fun backgrounds and stories make the session fun for all ages!  

International Children’s Library is an online library that provides free ebooks in multiple languages.  

Khan Academy provides free courses in multiple subjects for all ages.  

Academic Skills Builder is designed for students in first through sixth grade. The free website has dozens of games that aim to improve your child’s knowledge in math, geography, typing, spelling, and language arts.

Graduate Student Life is dedicated to supporting the success of Mason graduate students by providing community-building, professional development, and personal development programs; connecting graduate students to campus resources; and identifying and advocating for graduate student needs. 

The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) is a student group at George Mason University, established 2009. Our goal is to unite graduate students and establish a forum through which graduate and professional students are able to address issues, advocate for the greater good, grow professionally, and socialize with one another.

University Career Services helps international students navigate the U.S. world of work and acclimate to the American work culture through individual appointments as well as specialized programs.  

International Program and Services advises non-immigrant students, scholars, faculty, and staff at George Mason University on a range of issues vital to Mason’s international community. The office assists international students and scholars with processing key documents, provides educational cultural and social programs including the annual International Week held each April, and provides advising on a walk-in and appointment basis.
